Temps are starting to dip across the country, which means it’s finally time to start layering up.
To get some fresh inspiration on how to pull together sophisticated looks that will make getting dressed feel effortless, we asked Chris Warren, our VP of Sales and Merchandising, to pull together a few fall layering ideas.
CW: I'd start out by showing you our Lester quarter zip, which is really our lightest weight quarter zip. It’s really comfortable, lightweight, and easy to wear. I’ve paired it here with this beautiful Ryan Stripe performance polo in Navy/Evergreen, but it’s so versatile you could put it over a solid or over a printed pattern. You could even wear it over a t-shirt.
CW: This Taft vest is a beautiful, unquilted vest. Everybody's been wearing quilted vests for the past few years, but this won’t look as puffy. This one’s really soft and really lightweight. It's got stretch on the side so it's easy to move in.
You can layer this black Taft vest here with a little dotted Chester performance quarter zip in black, which has a black background and a real subtle little purple and blue dot in it.
And then we've taken that quarter zip and layered it over a beautiful Alston performance polo that's got racing cars on it – again in those purples and blues.
So this whole look right here is a really fun way you can start off in the morning with the vest, and if you need to lose it, you’ve got a great looking quarter zip up on top and then a cool knit underneath it.
CW: Here's a beautiful Hunter Snap fleece. This is a micro fleece with a hidden kangaroo pocket in the front so you've got somewhere to put your hands. This has snaps versus a zipper just to add a little sophistication.
I like to style this fleece over our Joshua Twill sport shirt in Rose since this shirt has a subtle green in the pattern. But it’s versatile enough you could wear it over a golf shirt as well. Again, just a really comfortable lightweight fleece piece.
CW: In that case, I’d point you to natural fibers. We do some beautiful things with natural fibers.
Our Merino crewneck and quarter zip come in tons of colors, and you can pop those over a cotton sport shirt like our Hudson Houndstooth sport shirt or our Owen Chambray work shirt and have a true natural fiber look.
