The road to here.
Jamie Rutherford focused on golf after stopping football at fourteen and turned professional in 2013. Three years later, a car accident left him with a fractured spine. He resumed playing in August 2016 and entered the first stage of European Tour Qualifying School that October.
He progressed through all three stages, earning a place on the 2017 European Tour. The years since have included the international development circuit, where his first HotelPlanner Tour victory arrived at the 2025 Cell C Cape Town Open in South Africa.
Rutherford continues on the HotelPlanner Tour in 2026. At the Challenge de España, three opening rounds of 69, 68 and 67 put him in the final-round contest. He finished tied fifth at thirteen under, another verified chapter in the career of the professional attached to Knebworth Golf Club.
