John-Baptiste Hakizimana

John-Baptiste Hakizimana began playing golf in Rwanda at five. His professional journey later included a period away from tournament golf, when he worked as a caddie at Maidstone Golf Club in New York. The APGA records his return to professional competition approximately five years before his breakthrough victory.

At the 2025 Jefferson Health APGA Classic, Hakizimana won by four strokes to secure his first APGA Tour title. That victory followed a tied-third finish at the Juneteenth Classic, where his opening 64 put him among the first-round leaders.

He carried that progress into 2026 with a tied-second finish at the Farmers Insurance Invitational at Torrey Pines. Selected for the APGA World Wide Technology Player Development Program, he also participated as an instructor in a St. Louis youth clinic during the Daugherty Foundation Championship.
