The road to here.
Marcel Schneider first hit a golf ball at nine during a family holiday in Austria. Nobody in his family played, but the driving range outside their hotel caught his attention. The professional who noticed those early shots, Richard Fries, became his first coach; years later, the two resumed working together.
An Australian Amateur title in 2012 was followed by success on the Pro Golf Tour and Europe’s development circuit. Two victories in 2021 helped Schneider return to the DP World Tour for 2022, the season in which he made his U.S. Open debut.
In 2026, his results included sixth place at the Corales Puntacana Championship. A persistent wrist injury has since brought his season to an early close. He remains part of the Turtleson community as a brand ambassador while focusing on recovery, with his DP World Tour career still central to his story.
